MECHANISM OF ACTION:

Oral rehydration solution (ORS) was established as the cornerstone of therapy for dehydration secondary to acute infectious diarrhea approximately 40 years ago. The efficacy of ORS is based on the ability of glucose to stimulate Na and fluid absorption in the small intestine via a cyclic AMP-independent process.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:

It is contraindicated in patients with Chronic heart failure, severe renal impairment. Visible water retention, decreased urine production, high levels of potassium in the blood. familial hyperkalemic periodic paralysis & Thomsen disease.

SIDE EFFECTS:

Nausea, Vomiting, Weakness, Loss of Appetite, Confusion, Severe Thirst & Kidney Damage.

PRECAUTIONS & WARNING

Do not take K-Medico ORS if you are allergic to any of its contents. Inform your doctor if you have hyperkalemia, hyperglycemia, hypernatremia, hyperchloremia, fluid overload, and refeeding syndrome. Consult your doctor before taking K-Medico ORS if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

To be used as per the instruction or as  directed.
